Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy TPLO
Advanced TPLO & Orthopedic Surgery at Town & Country Veterinary Clinic (TCVC)
A Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) is one of the most successful procedures for treating a torn cranial cruciate ligament (CCL/ACL) in dogs. Without treatment, a CCL injury can lead to pain, lameness, knee instability, and progressive arthritis.
At Town & Country Veterinary Clinic (TCVC), our experienced veterinary surgeons provide advanced orthopedic care, including TPLO surgery, to help dogs return to comfortable, active lives.
Experienced Orthopedic Surgeons
Dr. Deborah Tucker has been an associate veterinarian at TCVC for more than 20 years and founded the clinic’s orthopedic surgery program. She has advanced orthopedic surgical training and has performed TPLO procedures for the past seven years. Dr. Tucker also performs a wide range of complex orthopedic procedures, including fracture repairs, luxating patella repairs, ligament injury repairs, and fractures involving long bones, the pelvis, and jaw.
Dr. Nick Canevari has been an associate veterinarian at TCVC for more than 10 years and has advanced orthopedic training as well. He performs a wide range of orthopedic procedures, including TPLO surgery and other advanced joint and fracture surgeries.
What to Expect with TPLO Surgery
Before surgery, your dog receives a complete orthopedic examination and digital X-rays to confirm the diagnosis and develop an individualized treatment plan.
During TPLO surgery, the tibia is carefully reshaped and repositioned to stabilize the knee joint. A specialized orthopedic plate is used to secure the bone during healing. Most dogs begin using the leg within days after surgery and, with proper recovery care, return to an active lifestyle.
TPLO Surgery Cost
The typical cost of TPLO surgery at TCVC ranges from $4,800 to $5,600. Final cost depends on your dog’s size, medical needs, diagnostic requirements, and any additional treatment required. A detailed estimate is provided after your pet’s orthopedic evaluation.
